Compare ranges, equity, and hand categories
Use the Details tab to inspect both players, bucket charts, and the equity distribution.
The main Details tab compares the players who reach the current decision. Use it to understand range composition and equity, rather than looking only at your exact hand. This is separate from the Compare overlay, which compares different strategy models at a matched decision.
Check the players and range matrices
Open Details beside the main Strategy tab. Read the seat labels above the range matrices; the viewed acting player and other displayed players can change as you navigate the action line. Some preflop nodes have more than two relevant players.
Each matrix has a display selector. Choose Range, EV, EQ, or EQR when available. The acting player's pane also offers Strategy. Not every player has action EV data at every node.
Hover or select a hand in the pane you want to inspect. The linked hand details follow that player and hand, so an identical starting-hand label in two panes need not represent the same range weight or value.
Read the basic comparison bars
The basic bars summarize Combos, EV, EQ, and EQR for the displayed players.
- Combos measures weighted combinations in the range, not a count of hands played in a database.
- EV describes value in this solved situation.
- EQ describes equity against the other range.
- EQR relates value to an equity share of the matched pot; it can exceed 100%.
A wide range can have lower average equity, and a range with higher equity does not necessarily prefer betting at every opportunity. Compare the metrics together. An unavailable value is not a zero.
Before enough players have acted to provide a comparison, Study shows a message instead of these charts. Postflop equity and hand-category analysis require a flop.
Inspect equity buckets and hand categories
After the flop, choose a category view such as EQ buckets - Simple, EQ buckets - Advanced, Hands, Draws, or Details. These divide the same ranges in different ways.
Use made-hand categories to compare how often the ranges contain pairs, sets, or stronger hands. Use draw categories for future improvement potential. Equity buckets compare strength against the opposing range, which is different from simply naming the made hand.
Hover a category to highlight its associated combinations in the linked matrices. Where a category has more detail, open that breakdown to inspect the subgroups. For a persistent combination of conditions in the strategy view, use the Filters panel.
Explore the equity distribution
The Equity distribution chart shows how equity is spread through the players' ranges, rather than reducing each range to one average. Read its axes and player labels before comparing the curves.
Drag across the chart to select an interval and highlight the corresponding portion of the ranges. Use Clear selection to remove it. A selected hand can also be located within the distribution, helping you connect a familiar combo with the whole range.
Try comparing the strongest part of each range, then the middle. A higher average equity and a larger concentration of very strong hands answer different questions about the matchup.
Turn the comparison into a study question
Hold the board and action line fixed. Identify one difference in the ranges, then ask how it relates to the acting player's strategy.
On a phone, the panes and charts stack vertically. Scroll through the full Details view before deciding that a chart is missing. If you want to compare a profile or locked result against GTO, use strategy comparison instead.
