Compare GTO, profiles, and locked strategies
Use the Compare overlay to inspect supported strategy models at the same decision.
Compare shows different strategy sources for the decision you are viewing. Use it after selecting a profile/pool model or applying a nodelock. It is separate from the main Details tab, which compares players' ranges within one solution.
Start from a supported comparison
Choose the decision in Study's Action line. When a comparison is available, select Compare beside that viewed decision. It opens an overlay while keeping the Study workspace underneath.
Comparison is offered for supported profile and locked strategies. An ordinary GTO solution, or a custom setup with neither a profile nor a lock, does not automatically offer another strategy source. The tool does not let you pick any two unrelated solves, boards, or library entries.
If Compare is absent, first check whether the current setup contains the model or lock you intended to test. If it is still loading, wait for the sources to finish resolving.
Check the source on each side
The two pane selectors list the sources available for this decision. The default pairing is the GTO reference and the current result. Depending on the setup, other labels can identify a profile, Against [profile], or Current lock. A profile source may also be available underneath a locked result.
Read the labels before comparing the matrices. A profile player's strategy is different from the strategy of the player responding to that profile. Current lock identifies the result with your lock applied; it is not another independent observation about the opponent.
Choose the two sources that answer your question. For example, comparing a locked result to its available profile source can help separate the additional lock from the broader profile model.
Compare frequencies and affected hands
Read the overall action frequencies below each matrix, then select hands in each pane. Highlight an action to see where it appears in the range. Look for both broad changes and the combinations driving them.
Keep the comparison tied to the same decision and acting player. After imposing a lock on an opponent's action, continue to your response node to study the adjustment. A difference at the locked node itself may simply be the behavior you specified.
The overlay concentrates on strategy matrices and action mixes. Return to the main workspace's hand views for detailed action EVs, or to Details for equity and category charts.
Handle missing sources and return to Study
If a source fails to load, Compare can retain the available strategies with a warning. That is a partial comparison, not evidence that the missing source agrees with the visible one. Use Retry and confirm the pane labels again after loading.
On a phone, the comparison panes stack vertically. Scroll within the overlay to inspect both. Close Compare to return to the previous workspace tab and continue the action line.
Record the ranges, profile, and lock together with your takeaway. A successful comparison shows what follows from those assumptions; it does not establish that the assumptions are true of a real opponent.
